Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and raised within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam is a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her the position of curator at the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family then relocated into the iconic. In 2005 she was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in the class of a vocal music major. Sullivan was first singing in the kids' chorus as a contralto, before joining the adult chorus a couple of years later. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I was doing solos in churches and a person wanted me to sign to the gospel label at age had turned eleven, however I wasn't ready to do that," she recalls.
