Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain who was awarded gold at the 2012 Olympics. The six Olympic gold medals are part of the record-breaking number. Aly was also an athlete on two World Championships winning teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's interest in the sport can be traced to her first "mommy & me" gymnastics class she took when she was just 18 months old. Aly has been an active proponent of body positivity and has been a leader and an activist on the ground. Aly recently made a statement about Larry Nassar's sentencing. The 1994 birth of Aly Raisman was a turning point in her life. Aly Raisman started gymnastics in her early years and helped the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. The year 2012 saw Raisman win two gold medals during the London Olympics - one for the team event, and one for individual floor exercises, along with an Olympic bronze medal on the beam. Raisman won silver in both the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics at Rio. Also, she took home a gold medal in the gymnastics team competition. Raisman revealed in 2017 that she was abused sexually by a former team doctor Larry Nassar. The following year, she brought the lawsuit with USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
